Dirty Down Yellow Rust

€10,50
SKU DD-YR-25-1

Description

Apply yellow rust paint in the same way as our regular rust paint, with brush or airbrush/sprayer. Use alone or with regular rust effect paint. A single layer of yellow rust has a light yellow hue, but the hue becomes darker as more layers are applied. When applied several times, the color darkens similar to our normal rust effect paint. Mix with our regular rust paint to create different rust tones.
Box contents: 25 ml.

IMPORTANT:

Before use: Shake the pot thoroughly with the ball bearing rattle and stir the pot thoroughly with an old brush until all lumps have disappeared.
For best results, the pot and surface to be painted should be at room temperature or slightly warmer. The paint may dry dark if the surface is too hot or too cold. Tip: Before use, keep the pot in the bag on your skin for an hour and shake it regularly with the rattling of the ball bearing. Stir and shake the pot repeatedly until all lumps disappear. It is very difficult to remove the lumps if the liquid is cool or cold.

Instructions for use:

- Always clean the brush immediately after use in water or denatured alcohol (not benzine). Do not allow the paint on the brush to harden completely.
- The mixture will settle on the bottom of the pot. Shake and stir thoroughly with the ball bearing before each use.
- Use paint straight from the pot. During use, quickly replace the lid to prevent the liquid from evaporating. Evaporation causes the liquid to become thicker and the color darker.
- To lighten the shade, add a little water. Do not add water to the paint pot, it is best to pour some paint into a separate pot and then add small amounts of water. Or to lighten the color, apply paint to a surface with a damp/wet brush. Or after painting, dab the wet or dry paint with a wet brush.
- Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and free of grease. Test paint on concealed surfaces before use to ensure compatibility and adhesion.
- Apply only to non-porous surfaces such as plastic and metal. Do not apply to porous/absorbent surfaces such as bare wood or paper. The paint can be applied to painted surfaces, but test first. If the effect does not appear, first try sealing the surface with varnish.
- Our paint is water-soluble and the effect of the painting will be lost if washed in water or handled with wet hands. Do not expose paint to rain or splashes of water.
- Looks best when applied to a rough surface.
- To fill dents and gouges in surfaces, first cover the surface with paint and then wipe the paint from the bumps with a damp cloth (at an angle to the gouges), leaving some of the paint trapped. The wetter the cloth, the more paint will be removed.
- Once dry, avoid scrubbing/scratching the finished paint.

For best results, it is best to practice the various techniques listed below:

- To darken the shade, apply more coats. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying another. Any number of layers of paint can be applied on top of each other. For a broken, patchy effect, apply to small areas/spots at a time and allow to dry - more in some areas, less in others.
- The shade varies depending on the amount applied. A thick layer of paint will dry a darker shade, and a thin layer of paint will dry a lighter shade.
- Further color nuances can be created by dabbing with a damp or wet brush, cloth or paper towel onto the painted surface and then drying. As the water dries, the paint separates into light and dark shades. The more water used, the greater the effect. This technique can be used after the paint is dry or while it is still wet. Another option is to simply spray the paint with water and let it dry - without dabbing.
- For a very dark shade, pour a small amount into a separate pot and allow the color to evaporate. The more the paint evaporates, the thicker and darker the paint becomes.

Brush Application

- Dip the brush and apply immediately to the surface. For a splotchy effect, blot the paint onto a surface and continue blotting in the same spot until the paint dries. This way, any number of layers can be applied. For a more even effect, apply an even layer to a surface. A dry, damp or wet brush can be used
- depending on whether a soft or stiff brush is used to apply the paint, the effect will be different.
- Fine soft brush: For very detailed work. Apply a small amount with the brush and apply directly to the surface.
- Larger soft brush: For applying larger amounts to larger areas. Apply larger amounts for a darker shade and smaller amounts for lighter shades.
- Stiff Brush: Very light tones can be achieved by dabbing a very small amount of paint onto a surface with a stiff brush. Allow the paint to dry slightly on the brush to create a very light effect, similar to the dry brushing painting technique.

Cloth/Tissue Application

- Apply to a cloth or tissue and dab onto a surface and continue dabbing in the same area until the paint dries.
- Apply a small amount at a time for a light shade. For a darker shade, apply a larger amount.

Spray Application

- Spray paint directly from the pot onto a surface using an air brush or pressure pot spray gun. Clean the air brush immediately after use.
- Our paints are water-soluble and can be wiped onto surfaces (even when completely dry) in two ways:

With a damp cotton swab.
- Moisten only one end of the cotton swab.
- Wipe the paint first with the wet side and then with the dry side.
- The wetter the cotton swab, the more color is removed.
- Use a sheet of kitchen roll (absorbent paper towel).
- First apply the paint to the panels and let it dry.
- Flatten one end of a paper towel and dip that end in water.
- Remove most of the water from the flat end so that it is only slightly moist. To do this, press the flat end against other dry kitchen rolls.
- Lightly press the wet, flat end of the paper towel against the dried paint and twist the paper towel.
- Store the paper towel in one place, do not wipe the surface from side to side. Some paint is left on the model and some has been removed. Some paint is wetted by the damp paper towel and changes the shade to appear darker.
- The wetter the paint gets, the darker the shade becomes. Practice first to check how wet the paper towel should be and how much pressure you need to apply.

Create different shades with water:

- Apply the paint to a surface and add a small amount of water to the paint as it dries. This usually causes the colors to separate and dry in different shades and more patchy.
- Water can be applied to the surface after the paint has completely dried or when the paint is still wet.
